CUTTERS: An Exhibition of International Collage Back to list

16.Oct.2009 to 18.Nov.2009   1PM until 7PM

@ Cinders Gallery, New York , USA

Celebrating the art of collage, Cutters opens at Brooklyn’s Cinders Gallery on October 16. The exhibition is curated by James Gallagher. His aim is to invigorate the art form, and of course to shed light on artists working in the medium. 40 artists from North America and Europe are included. While they work in different sizes and shapes, their method speaks to a similar interest in craft.

Focusing on contemporary collage from Europe and North America, the exhibition seeks to invigorate the art form through images that have been sorted, stacked, layered, glued, ripped and cut, virtually transforming the gallery into a giant glued assemblage itself.
