Louisa is a London-based Illustrator/Designer who has just completed a Masters in Communication Design at Central Saint Martins School of Art. Her work centres around appreciating the bizarre in an attempt to escape the banal. She takes inspiration from fairgrounds, Mexican popular culture, Child beauty pageants and play, to produce work which represents a naivety in which we approached things as children.. The weird and wonderful collide into kitsch fantasy worlds, mixing old and new and offering a saturated alternative to normality.
Process is key to Louisa’s practise, with each medium feeding back into the next, from drawing and screen-printing to photography, set design and collage. She loves vibrant colour, cutting and pasting, and collecting things; to produce work with an eclectic and handmade approach.
